Per new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a source provided information indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request are unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” Raskin wrote in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or agents have made any promises to Trump or his legal team.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
