I'll stamp all over 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
