Unidentified Magenta Slime on Remote Tasmanian Shoreline Prompts Anxiety of Possible Algae Outbreak
Officials in the island state are working to identify a rosy sludge that has appeared on a secluded beach, with certain experts concerned it could be an phytoplankton proliferation.
Broad Appearance Along Shore
The rosy-colored ooze appeared along a section of Randalls Bay about 60 kilometers south of the capital. A like substance has also been noted on areas of a nearby shore and an additional coastal site.
